The project involved undertaking a Level 1 energy and water audit of the companies thirty-five storey head office in Melbourne. A detailed report was prepared on the outcomes of the audit which included a range of energy and water conservation measures.
Energy conservation measures recommended included: upgrading to more efficient chillers; installation of variable speed drives on HVAC pumps; implementation of CO/CO2/VSD control of car park fans; energy efficient lamp retrofits, and lighting control enhancements.
Water conservation measures identified included: upgrading all toilets to dual flush; reducing urinal flush volumes; installing flow restrictors on hand basin taps; optimising cooling tower water use; installing water-efficient rinse guns in kitchens; implementing a water leak management program; installing rainwater harvesting tanks; improving water metering and implementing water efficiency awareness and training programs.
In total, the audit identified energy and water conservation measures that could potentially reduce energy consumption by up to 13% and water consumption by up to 25%.
