This project involved registration of Pacific Hydro's joint venture 155MW La Higuera Hydro Power project under the Clean Development Mechanism in Chile (http://cdm.unfccc.int/Projects/DB/DNV-CUK1137578325.1/view). The La Higuera project was the first large hydro project to be registered under the CDM in Chile, as well as being the first large hyrdro project to receive registration under the EU linking directive. The project, managed through Pacific Hydro, including preparation of the PDD, Host Country Approval, public presentations, supervisition of the Validation and undertaking Large Hydro Linking Approval with the Netherlands. It also included the creation of a dispatch model for the Chilean system to calculate the Operating Margin for the project. The project was registered with the CDM Executive Board on the 20th March 2006.
