Perenia's senior management team has several decades of combined experience in the identification, design and operation of renewable energy and emission reduction projects.
David holds degrees in Urban Planning from the University of New South Wales and in Public Policy from Sydney University and has a broad track record which includes the provision of policy advice associated with sustainable energy and climate change response frameworks. He was a Foundation Director of Perenia and has been a Director of various enterprises in related fields in India and China. He lived in India for six years where he served as SMEC’s Executive Director for South Asia and managed high growth businesses with over 1,000 staff involved in the identification and delivery of renewable energy and infrastructure projects. As an Executive Director he has also been responsible for SMEC’s operations in China, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.
Michael holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Environmental Management degrees from Macquarie University and is on AusAID’s Rural Development and Environment Expert Panel in the category of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Michael was central to the establishment of SMEC’s climate change consulting business over 10 years ago and was responsible for the growth and evolution of the business prior to its acquisition by Perenia. Michael has undertaken leading projects across international and domestic policy environments and his skills include the preparation and reporting of greenhouse gas inventories, assessment of carbon risks and liabilities, audit and verification of greenhouse gas emissions, development of carbon management plans, the identification, evaluation and development of greenhouse gas emission reduction projects, the registration of CDM projects and the transaction of carbon offsets. Michael is responsible for the management and delivery of Perenia’s Carbon Management Solutions, Sustainable Energy Solutions, Clean Development Mechanism/Joint Implementation and Carbon Trading practices
Graeme holds a Bachelor of International Business majoring in Economics and International Management from Griffith University. He brings significant experience in national and international business development and marketing. As Business Development and Project Development Manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd, Graeme focused on developing global strategies to create deal flow and to build Mitsui’s profile in a range of sectors. During this time, he created key relationships within the private and public sectors with key senior management and operational contacts and also developed various alliances and consortiums for numerous water and rail infrastructure projects. Graeme brings his strategic business development and marketing skills to help develop Perenia into a true leader in the Carbon Sector.
Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tasmania. Andrew brings diverse finance experience combined with industry specific experience to Perenia which has been gained from previous roles in Australia and overseas. Andrew commenced his career as a Tax Advisor with Ernst & Young before moving to Australia’s leading renewable energy company, Pacific Hydro. During his time at Pacific Hydro, Andrew’s roles included that of Group Tax Manager and Finance Manager, Brazil. Andrew’s two years in Brazil as Finance Manager were instrumental in establishing and growing the company’s business in that country. Andrew has a key role in managing Perenia’s finance function as it expands in Australia and internationally.
Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Sustainable Resource Management from the University of Newcastle. She is currently completing a Master of Environmental Systems, Markets and Climate Change with the University of New England. She has extensive management and technical experience in energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) consulting to the Australian government, corporate and primary industry sectors. She has particular expertise in consulting to the Australian mining and extractive industries sector including the preparation of detailed GHG and energy assessments, emission profiles, energy efficiency and compliance reporting (e.g. National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act). Tiffany is the Vice-President of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and the Chair of both the Climate Change Special Interest Section for the EIANZ and the Climate Change Skills Training Program, a joint initiative with the Australian Department of Climate Change. She has consulted extensively to the public and private sector on major energy efficiency programs and provided extensive strategy advice and support for industry peak load reduction. She has also been involved in the NSW Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme (GGAS) and the Greenhouse Friendly Scheme.
Gordon is an Energy and Climate Change Specialist with Bachelor’s degrees from Monash University in Mechanical Engineering and in Business, majoring in accounting. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer CPEng. MIE Aust. MAusIMM. Gordon has extensive experience in the analysis of energy efficiency and the management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the delivery of several hundred energy projects. Gordon has hands-on experience in manufacturing, process and extractive industries coupled with twenty years of Australian and International consulting experience. He also has detailed management and technical exposure to mining, industrial processing, manufacturing and commercial environments with demonstrated ability to highlight viable cost saving projects and emission reductions through the application of innovative technical solutions. Gordon leads the Energy Solutions business, responsible for development and marketing of Sustainable Solutions for key clients both in Australia and internationally.
Will holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Bristol, UK and a Master of Philosophy in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, UK. Will brings with him a five years of experience in global carbon markets, working as advisor to some of the world’s largest emitting companies, banks, governments and international financial institutions. He has led numerous CDM due diligence assignments, CDM market risk assessments, capacity building programs and training courses in Europe, the United States, Africa, South Asia and Australia. Will has also worked closely on international climate policy for the United States Federal government. Will will lead Perenia’s South Asian team in the origination and implementation of CDM projects in India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
